Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Nintendo Direct Makes Big Claim

Nintendo recently announced the date and time for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Nintendo Direct. It’s set to stream on October 23 at 3p.m. Pacific. However, the most shocking thing isn’t how close the Nintendo Direct is, but how much it promises. Nintendo is claiming to reveal 50 new things in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U!

The question is how much of these new things are going to be related to the recent Amazon leak that may have revealed a stage builder and board game mode of play for the highly anticipated fighter? Actually this tweet has stirred up far more questions than anything. Just how big is each one of these fifty things individually? How many new game modes are there in the Wii U Super Smash Bros.? How much more will we learn about the role of the amiibo? Will “Break the Targets” make its triumphant return?

This tweet has already set fire beneath the Super Smash Bros, community, and the hype machine is going into overdrive. The Super Smash Bros. franchise has quickly become the largest release in the realm of fighting games, holding two of three of the largest fighting game titles of all time (single SKU). We already knew the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros was going to have a lot of content, but it now seems the latest console iteration of Nintendo‘s prized fighter may be even larger than we had been expecting all along.

Are you excited for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U? If so sound off in the comments or twitter and let us know what you’re hoping comes from this seemingly massive Nintendo Direct.
