Warning to those that own a physical copy of Super Smash Bros for Wii U! A new challenger error code approaches!
Many players have been reporting seeing an “error code 160-0103” while playing Super Smash Bros. Sadly, nobody seems to be sure on the cause of the error code. This new error can wipe out all of the memory from your Wii U system. Those who have contacted Nintendo on these issues have received the advice to either format the system or send the system in to have Nintendo themselves look at it. Unfortunately, reformatting the system seems to not be the best thing to do, as some have stated that after doing so their systems have become bricked and useless.
A YouTuber by the name of Trippy12345ify has uploaded a video showing what this error does. Despite the fact that his game disc seems to be in good condition, the error still seems to pop up. He goes on to say that the day before he made the video his game was running well, but when waking up the next day to play he received the error code.
Some people typing in the comments section of the video seem to think that the error comes from the recent Smash Bros. update, but not from the Wii U system itself. The error only shows up when one is playing Super Smash Bros, all other owned games seem to work just fine. Some people have tried to enter the Data Management page in the Wii U only to receive another error, this time saying “error code 160-1710.”
Nintendo is aware of the problems and are working hard to fix them. Official word from Nintendo on the subject is pending.
