Today, Square Enix has released Final Fantasy: All the Bravest for iOS devices. All the Bravest brings the Active Time Battle combat system to mobile and allows for up to 40 players to join up in battle simultaneously.
All the Bravest features a new combat instance called “Fever.” This ability allows a player to attack before his or her Active Time Battle gauge is completely filled, but the instance occurs only once every three hours.
Square Enix has created 20 unlockable characters varying in class such as thief, mage, and knight, and they’ve also created Premium level characters that can be purchased through the App Store. However, when purchasing a character, a player is given one of the 35 Premium characters at random, so it may take a while before acquiring Cloud.
All the Bravest’s announcement came weeks after Square Enix was reported to have registered new domains, including AllTheBravest.com and AllTheBravest.net. That left fans speculating that the Japanese-exclusive Bravely Default: Flying Fairy would be available in Western markets soon. Bravely Default is currently a Japanese 3DS-exclusive title and has not been announced for North America or Europe.
Square Enix has stayed active in mobile development, releasing Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy for the 3DS last summer and on iOS last month. Additionally, the Japanese developer has been releasing ports of the original Final Fantasy games onto iOS. Last month marked Final Fantasy IV’s launch as well as Square Enix’s announcement to bring Final Fantasy V to iOS devices, too.
All the Bravest sells for $3.99 in the App Store. For a first look at the game, check out Square Enix’s trailer below.
