Square Enix at GDC: Sleeping Dogs, Heroes of Ruin and Quantum Conundrum

Square Enix will be present at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco this year featuring hands-on demos of three of their most anticipated titles: Sleeping Dogs, Heroes of Ruin and Quantum Conundrum.

Sleeping Dogs, which was originally being developed as True Crime: Hong Kong, is an open world crime drama. According to the official site the game features “…an intuitive and imaginative combat system, Sleeping Dogs empowers players to take on whole gangs with bone-crunching kicks and combos, vicious counters and a cinematic set of environmental takedowns using improvised weapons from circular saws to phone booths, incinerators to refrigerator doors.”

Heroes of Ruin, for the Nintendo 3DS, looks to appeal to Diablo type gamers who want to take their dungeon-crawling on the go. The title’s official site says it features four diverse classes, the option to play solo or online and the ability to download new daily challenges through the SpotPass feature on the 3DS.

According to an article published on Gamespot, Quantum Conundrum was first unveiled at last year’s Penny Arcade Expo, and is being developed by Portal Co-Creator Kim Swift’s Airtight Games. Its a first person puzzle game much in the same vein of that popular Valve title. It will be available to download through Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and Steam.

In addition, Square Enix will also be showcasing new DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2 as well as a look at their new massively-multiplayer strategy game Wakfu. The GDC takes place this year March 5-9 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. For more on the games mentioned above, check out Square-Enix’s official site at: http://www.square-enix.com/
