Square Enix Announces New JRPG Lost Sphear

Lost Sphear

While I am Setsuna did not fare that good in terms of sales, Square Enix has never stopped supporting its indie developers, Tokyo RPG. Proof of that is the announcement of Lost Sphear, a new JRPG in development by the same studio.

The announcement has caught us off guard but, by the looks of it, we are in front of a new adventure that follows the trails of I am Setsuna albeit with some noticeable improvements. We leave you the trailer here so you can check it out.

Lost Sphear: An Epic Journey Ahead

According to the video description, Lost Sphear tells the story of Kanata, a young fellow who wakes up from a nightmare only to discover that his hometown is disappearing. The main task for Kanata and his friends will be to rebuild the crumbling world that surrounds them with their memories, transforming their thoughts into matter.

Square Enix has also confirmed that Tokyo RPG is bringing improvements to the gameplay and ATB battle systems, allowing players to plan more strategically their combats.

Lost Sphear is slated to arrive by the beginning of next year for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
