South Park: The Stick of Truth has Gone Gold. Seriously, Guys.

Coon and Friends Alert! Coon and Friends Alert!

Ubisoft has announced today that South Park: The Stick of Truth has gone gold, meaning the game has been completed in time for its March 4th release date. It is developed by RPG veterans Obsidian Entertainment with the help of South Park Studios, led by the show’s creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

The game has had a rocky development life. It was originally published by THQ, but they went under and the game’s rights were auctioned off. The game itself has seen a few delays, but then again, South Park Studios has a habit for doing things at the last second. While the announcement that the game is set for release is a cause of celebration, let’s make sure that we’re playing the game before breaking out the cheesy poofs.

South Park: The Stick of Truth blends the humor we all know and love from the TV show with classic turn based RPG elements. Popular characters will probably (read: absolutely) make appearances throughout the game. It will release on March 4th for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. We hope it does, anyway.
