South Park has been known to push a boundary or two…or ten, but with the exception of the episode “200,” the series hasn’t had its scenes censored. South Park: The Stick of Truth will change that.
According to BT.com, the European, Middle Eastern, and African releases of Stick of Truth will have a few scenes cut and replaced with a text description of what’s happening. This comes despite the game receiving a rating of 18+ in the UK, akin to the Mature rating given by the ESRB here in America.
According to BT.com, the censored scenes are as follows:
- Anal probing scenes where characters are “actively” being probed.
- A mini-game where a doctor performs an abortion on the player.
- A mini-game where the player performs an abortion on Randy Marsh.
Ugh, that was a spoiler alert regarding Randy Marsh.
It’ll be interesting to see just how “shocking” these scenes will be and whether or not their censorship in other territories are warranted. We’ll find out for ourselves soon enough because South Park: The Stick of Truth releases March 4th for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. It’s a good thing you kept those old consoles when you bought Xbox Ones and PS4s.
You did keep them, right?
