It’s shaping up to be pretty damn amazing.
Now go ahead and say what you want about me, “Oh Maikerukun is over 500 years old and a Nintendo fanboy, or should I say, fansage HAHAHA!..etc..etc..” but I do give credit where credit is due. And while I do not deny my loyalty’s to all things Ninetndo “a loyalty that only pales in comparison to my loyalty to Apple, an entirely different article mind you”, but I am mostly just loyal to GREAT GAMES.
It usually takes a lot to get me to play a shooter, let alone all the way through. I’m about saving princesses, kingdoms, and occasionally the world, and I’m used to it taking at least 35 to 40 hours to make that happen. Shooters are so focused on multiplayer, that there is no possible way on our planet that we would ever get one with a single player focus that deep. As a side note, if we ever did get a shooter that deep, it would be a day one purchase for me without question, but as it stands, they don’t do enough for me.
Leave it to DICE to come up with something to force me to pay attention.
I tried as hard as I could to get into the Modern Warfare sweep that took over the nation, but honestly, the campaigns were not the focus and the games were just too short for me to stay interested. I will say that Modern Warfare 2 is where my wargame interest peaked in this generation and I didn’t think I would see anything that would get me excited for it again, but I would be lying if I said that I didn’t wish the most recent game trailer for Battlefield 3 was a woman so I could sleep with it. It’s that sexy.
The bottom line is, there are many things that come into play in bringing a gamer who doesn’t usually bother with a particular genre to said genre, and as much as EA annoy’s the shit out of me with some of their choices, they do know how to cut a great trailer.
