New Sleeping Dogs Trailer Highlights Key Features

Square Enix has released a new trailer for their highly anticipated open world crime drama Sleeping Dogs.

Titled Sleeping Dogs 101, the new trailer gives us a rundown on all the features the game is to include from the visceral hand-to-hand combat and John Woo inspired gunplay to the wide variety of vehicles, missions and unlockables.

Check out the new trailer here via Gamespot:

Developed by United Front Games in collaboration with Square Enix London, Sleeping Dogs has you taking on the role of an undercover cop working his way up through the seedy underbelly of the Hong Kong Triad…by any means necessary. We’re guessing from some of the more brutal kills seen in the trailer that this one is going to walk away with an M rating. And its certainly nice to see an open world game come along where you get to play as a cop, as opposed to a gangster (even though you play most of the game undercover as one). Coincidentally, the last series of games to focus on the law enforcement side of the open world equation were the True Crime games…and Sleeping Dogs first began life as True Crime: Hong Kong, before Square Enix scooped up the publishing rights. Sleeping Dogs will be released on August 14 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. For more info, check out the official Facebook page or the game’s official site.
