Sixense Announces Controller For Oculus Rift

With the creation of the Oculus Rift, virtual reality applications have increased significantly along with the quality of them. To the point where a new type of controller is necessary to fully immerse the player in these virtual worlds. And the company to answer this call is non other than Sixensethe makers of Razer’s Hydra for PlayStation’s Move and Portal 2 in Motion.

Sixense have decided to grab the bull by the horns and be one of the first companies to develop a new controller made specifically for the Oculus Rift but in the form of a wireless controller. Before they release a version of this new controller for the public Sixense will be releasing a developer version to allow developers to create even more content followed by a consumer version .

Check out the video below to watch the Oculus Rift and Razer Hydra working together seamlessly.

Sixense will release development kits that will support three wireless motion trackers and will include fully playable controllers compatible with games and applications developed for existing Sixense-powered products, including the Razer Hydra. The dev kits will allow Sixense to work directly with developers to create software for the upcoming consumer version or to develop their own controllers and motion tracking devices.

Sixense will provide additional details about the development kits, including price and availability, soon. For more information about Sixense visit www.sixense.com.
