New Signs of Life Surface For I Am Alive

Usually when a game goes dark for more than a year it spells bad news, but Ubisoft’s action survival game seems to be living by it’s name. Recently new signs that I Am Alive may still be heading for release have surfaced in the form of an ESRB summary.

I Am Alive already has a colored past, since it’s initial announcement in 2008 the game has been through a lot. At first it was rumored that Assassin’s creed producer Jade Raymond was working on the title, this was later proved wrong. The games original development studio was Darkworks but due to a ‘mutual understanding’ the game shifted over to Ubisoft Shanghai and It’s rumoured that the game has undergone a full overhaul since it’s initial conception, with Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot saying they were “totally re-engineering the product.”

Over the pas year or so there have been little signs here and there to suggest to project is still going, little things like an Australian classification board website publishing a notification which hinted at a summer 2011 release date. This would fit with Ubisoft’s altered release window which is currently between Q2 2011 and Q2 2012.

Overall it looks like I Am Alive might actually be getting a release, be it one of the slowest and most low-key possible. Either way it’s a game worth paying attention to should it get released as it promises to be an interesting blend of action and survival.

If everything we know is true then expect the game anytime between now and March 2012. like your parents always said, “Pateience is a virtue”
