Shadow of the Eternals May Have a Future

A Facebook post detailing the future of Shadow of the Eternals was uploaded to the game’s official page today.

Phil Haymes, Social Manager for developer Precursor Games, mentioned that “wheels are starting to turn again.” The team of Phil, Denis Dyack, and Aaron Unger are all planning to be more active on the Precursor Games forums and continue to update regarding the future of Shadow of the Eternals. There is a strong intent to keep the project alive, but any major development won’t happen for a while.

There have been several crowd sourced fundraisers in order to help develop Shadow of the Eternals. All of them, however, have ended in failure. While there is public demand for a follow-up to Eternal Darkness, as evident by replies on the Facebook post, those speaking with their wallets have been wanting more than what Shadow of the Eternals has shown.

Whether or not things change remains to be seen. Regardless of what happens, we’ll be watching.
