Sennheiser’s finally stepped into the already competitive field of Xbox gaming headsets. Hoping that their reputable name within the PC industry will give them enough clout to brush away competitors, Sennheiser enters the ring with the X 320 and the X 2.
Sennheiser’s goal in launching both the X 320 and the X2 at the same time is to target the headset market twofold, seeking out the two types of customers that want either top-of-the-line quality audio or cost-effective audio.
The X 2 is the more cost effective of the two, pricing at $29.95. It contains the following features:
- Noise-canceling microphone
- Single-sided headset
- 2 year warranty
So, it contains the bare bones of what you’d expect out of a headset. The X 320 is a bit like the prettier, more expensive older cousin of X 2, by a long shot. And by a long shot, I mean a really god damned long shot. Here are its features:
- Two-sided headset with stereo sound
- Professional grade noise-canceling microphone
- Dual volume to adjust the levels of what you’re saying and what you hear
- Auto-mute
- Integrated amplifier, bass boost, and mixer
Except… the price point is a bit of a punch: $149.95. But looking at it’s features, you really are getting for what you paid for.
