Scorpion Confirmed for Injustice: Gods Among Us

If you were hoping for the next Injustice: Gods Among Us DLC character to be someone from the DC Comics Universe, think again. DC Comics head honcho Jim Lee revealed that the last DLC character will be none other than Scorpion, of Mortal Kombat fame. True, the terrific DC Comics fighting game was crafted (krafted?) by the same folks behind the stellar 2011 Mortal Kombat reboot, so it’s not all that surprising.

One thing’s for certain: he looks awesome after getting a redesign from Lee himself.

The DLC will be hitting the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime this summer for around $5, but he’s free if you got the Injustice: Gods Among Us Season Pass, which also gets you Lobo, Batgirl and (probably) Zod, though the tease at the end of the trailer implies it’ll be the Martian Manhunter instead. The downside to the Season Pass is that it doesn’t provide free access to the many character skins that are available; you’ll need to buy those separately.

This announcement brings an extra bit of good news for Wii U fans: Netherrealm has finally confirmed that DLC will be coming to that version of Injusticethis summer.” So… at least we have a three month window. Expect Nintendo to make some DLC announcements during their E3 Nintendo Direct videos next week.
