Rumour: Haggar to be Playable Character in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3

The prayers of Haggar fans worldwide may soon be answered — a leak from Capcom strongly suggests that the legendary pile-driving mayor from Final Fight will be a playable character in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.

The leak sprung from a photo gallery in which the staff of Capcom’s US branch office were showing off their Halloween costumes. In the background of one shot the shirtless, street-fighting star of Final Fight is clearly visible on an employee’s computer screen, rendered in the graphical style of Capcom’s upcoming cross-over fighting game.

Capcom has taken down the photo in question, lending further weight to the theory that the leak is real.

If Haggar is confirmed for MVC3, it will be his first major video game appearance in years. While his Final Fight comrades Guy and Cody made it into Super Street Fighter IV, Haggar was left out in the cold — the game designers at Capcom deemed his move set too similar to Zangief’s to merit his inclusion.

More details on this explosive new development here.
