Update: Diablo 3 for Ps3 is Go

First off, I am awaiting some sort of release date for Diablo 3 for the PC at this year’s E3. What I wasn’t expecting, was seeing a job posting at Blizzard’s website looking for a senior software engineer to work on Diablo 3 for the Ps3 (where’s the XB360 love).

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an enthusiastic senior software engineer to be a key contributor on the Diablo team. This position is responsible for overseeing Playstation 3 (PS3) architecture design as well as other PS3-specific game code development to maximize platform performance.

Rumors of Diablo 3 making it’s way to a console started a few months ago, where it was hinted that a Blizzard game might do well on a console.

What are your thoughts about the possibility of Diablo 3 heading to the PlayStation 3? Do you think this is a good move by Blizzard?

UPDATE: The word coming in now is that Blizzard is making Diablo 3 for the Ps3. There’s still no word if it will release at the same time as the PC version but at least we now know that it’s going to happen (eventually).
