Rock Band 3 to get Johnny Cash, free classics (Jan. 4)

Johnny Cash is a music legend. His career spanned nearly fifty years and a variety of musical genres. I’m happy to say that he is coming to Rock Band 3 for all systems on January 4th with an 8-song pack. The Johnny Cash Pack 01 includes:

  • Cry, Cry, Cry
  • Don’t Take Your Guns to Town
  • Five Feet High and Rising
  • Folsom Prison Blues
  • I Got Stripes
  • I Walk the Line *
  • Tennessee Flat Top Box *
  • The Ballad of Ira Hayes

The full track pack will be $13.49 USD/1080 Microsoft Points/1,350 Wii Points, while each song is $1.99/160 MSP/200 Wii Points.

* Indicates the song will have Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99/80 MSP/100 Wii Points per song.

In addition to Johnny Cash, Harmonix will be releasing a 9-pack of songs previously released on Rock Band 2 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The Rock Band Free Pack 01 will include:

  • Abnormality – Visions
  • Anarchy Club – Get Clean
  • Bang Camaro – Night Lies
  • Breaking Wheel – Shoulder to the Plow
  • Libyans – Welcome to the Neighborhood
  • The Main Drag – A Jagged Gorgeous Winter
  • Speck – Conventional Lover
  • The Sterns – Supreme Girl
  • That Handsome Devil – Rob the Prez-O-Dent

Like the pack name says, this will be free. There are no Pro Guitar or Pro Bass expansions. There is also no word on whether they’ll be coming along to the Wii or whether there will be more non-exported songs released.
