At CES 2017, ROCCAT shows off their new mice and keyboard, which feature their brand new ForceFX and Owl-Eye technologies.
ROCCAT ‘s new mice are named Leadr, the Kone EMP, and the Kone Pure 2017. All three of the new mice are using the brand new Owl-Eye sensor.
What is ROCCAT Owl-Eye?
The Owl-Eye sports a resolution up to 12,000 DPI and tracking up to 250 inches per second. While it may have a maximum resolution with a high ceiling, most gamers play with much lower DPI settings; fortunately ROCCAT anticipated that and tuned to the Owl-Eye sensor for optimal operation between 400 and 3,000 DPI.
The Owl-Eye sensor was designed to provide the most natural feeling that perfectly translates mouse movements on screen with incredible accuracy
Additionally ROCCAT says Owl-Eye has zero acceleration or prediction. Like most high-end mouse sensors, the Owl-Eye has a configurable lift-off distance.
ROCCAT Kone Pure 2017
Two of the three new mice using the new Owl-Eye sensor are updates to previous ROCCAT products. The Kone EMP is an updated version of the company’s Kone XTD mouse. Like the XTD, it is a full sized gaming mouse with RGB LED illumination and ten programmable functions. The Kone Pure 2017 drops the lighting and ten percent of the Kone EMP size to make a bare bones performance mouse with seven programmable buttons.
ROCCAT Leadr
The Leadr mouse that also features the Owl-Eye sensor is wireless. ROCCAT claims that the Leadr offers a “zero lag” gaming experience despite the fact that it is wireless. The Leadr also features an analog thumb paddle and a charging dock.
ROCCAT Isku+ Force FX
In addition to the mice, ROCCAT announced a modified version of the company’s existing Isku FX keyboard called the Isku+ Force FX. Like the previous version, it is an RGB LED equipped gaming keyboard including Talk, which allows a mouse to control a compatible keyboard or vice-versa.
The biggest difference in the new Isku+ Force FX is the Force FX keys. The keys will allow gamers to send analog input to their games for finer control of in-game functions, like character movement.
According to ROCCAT’s product pages, the Kone EMP mouse will be available mid January with the Isku+ Force FX to follow shortly after. The other two mice will be released in mid-April. No pricing details were announced.
