Since the debut of the Xbox One and PS4, resolution has been stuck in the minds of console and PC gamers. And it seemed as if Microsoft wasn’t banking on the possibility of this occurring. Titanfall marks the yet another Xbox One game that only manages to hover around the 720p resolution. There had been plenty of rumors surrounding the possibility that the game would be capped at 720p on Xbox One, but there was no confirmation until this point.
A fan had tweeted the team Respawn a question, asking if Titanfall would be running at 1080p. Vince Zampella, one of the co-founders of Respawn Entertainment, simply responded, “no.”
This can be a little disappointing for those who were hoping for more 1080p games on Xbox One, as it seems at this point that 1080p games may be a little difficult to accomplish on the Xbox One. The important thing to remember is that the console is still powerful. Whether it can render games in full HD is not as important. Games should be fun, and as long as they play well with next generation visuals, why should it matter if a game’s resolution is around 720p? I mean, Ryse looks fantastic, and it’s not 1080p.
