When Batman: Arkham Knight had its 2014 release date pushed to an indeterminate time in 2015, in light of all the other new-gen console games that saw delays it was an expected but unwelcome reveal.
Even at E3 this year, Rocksteady declined to lock the release of the final chapter in the Arkham series with a date. However, a game listing on the Microsoft store may have let the bat out of the cave sooner than the developers would have liked.
Sn4ke_911, a poster at the NeoGAF forums shared a screen grab of the listing which ‘revealed’ the release date for Batman: Arkham Knight to be 24th February 2015.
While it’s possible this was a mistake, Microsoft has not bothered to clarify or take down the listing, making the date seem more concrete. However, it could also be a placeholder.
Furthermore, if Arkham Knight were to be released on February 24th, it would compete with The Witcher 3 (Feb 24th) and Sony’s The Order: 1886 (Feb 20th). Additionally, the listing for the game is for the Xbox One and PC, with no word on the PS4 version.
We’ll be following the developments on Batman: Arkham Knight closely in the months to come.
