Ready, Set, Go: Jet Set Radio to Mark New Territory on Consoles and Windows PC This Summer

DJ Professor K, Gum, Beat, and the rest of your favorite skateboard-touting taggers from the GGs will have an all new, digital HD palette to paint as Jet Set Radio returns to consoles and Windows PC this summer.

Those familiar with the multi-genre soundtrack, bold artwork, and exhilarating pace of the original 2000 Dreamcast title can revisit the city of Tokyo-to just in time for vacation season via Xbox Live Arcade on Xbox 360, PlayStation Network, and Windows PC Digital Download.

Named after the hottest pirate broadcast of the game’s Japanese setting, Jet Set Radio has players competing rival gang leader Beat, gaining on his graffiti artist goons, rolling and leaping through futuristic urban neighborhoods, and taking power back from Tokyo-to’s omniscient police force by executing pieces of their publically-prohibited expressions.

Marked territory doesn’t stop there, thanks to an upcoming SEGA fan contest. Jet Set Radio aficionados with an affinity for artwork also get an opportunity to be a part of video game history. US and UK artists have until 10:00 PST on March 20th to submit original creations for consideration as one of eighteen in-game graphics to be included in the summer release. Haruki Satomi, Senior Vice President of Digital Business at SEGA of America, explains the inspiration for the game’s interactive competition:
“Every time we look at our favorite SEGA classics, the fans never fail to ask about Jet Set Radio. The game was unlike anything else when it first came out, and was one of the first games in history to use cel-shading. More importantly, Jet Set Radio is a game that celebrates self-expression, and we’re looking forward to seeing how gamers and artists come together to leave their mark on Tokyo-to.”
Contest winners will not only have their digital dexterity appreciated by players the world over, but chosen submissions will receive a Jet Set Radio prize pack that includes a hoodie, branded beverage shaker, two digital copies of the game, and the Rukus from Eton Corporation—the world’s first Bluetooth sound system with solar panel.

Further details about the contest can be found at http://www.sega.com/jsrcontest.
