Videogame delays are not something new and we are quite used to them happening. Now, when this setback happens just ahead of launch, that’s already a tad more surprising. Or unexpected, at least. This seems to be the case for Deformers, the new game from The Order: 1886 developer Ready at Dawn. It was slated for February 14 but that’s not longer happening.
Extra polishing and balancing seems to be the core reason behind the delay. In a development blog entry, the team thanks the community for the insightful feedback, which in turn has deemed necessary to invest more tweaking efforts. “This extra time will also provide even more opportunities to gather additional feedback and invite others to try out Deformers,” they state. Meaning, that an open beta is currently planned for Steam as well.
While a release date has not yet appeared, we should assume Deformers is still coming in the near future.
Deformers: A Strange Departure
When Ready at Dawn announced their next game, no one could really deny that the development studio had taken a different route. Deformers is a physics-driven competitive multiplayer that features fluffy opponents on floating islands. It is pretty much as far from The Order: 1886 as it can be – and it looks like tons of fun. Worth noting is the number of platforms that it will run on. Unlikely other exclusive Ready at Dawn releases, Deformers is coming for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
If you want to keep track of this game, don’t hesitate to head to their official website.
