September is just about to close out, and with that, Microsoft has confirmed the next batch of free games coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One this October.
According to Major Nelson, the month of October is offering up an epic trio of games for Microsoft’s Games with Gold program. First and foremost, Chariot, a brand new indie game from Canadian developers Frima, will be available to download through Xbox One on October 1st. This puzzle-platformer title will be replacing Capy’s Super Time Force, which is strange as it leaves Crimson Dragon available as a free download for the third month in a row.
On the Xbox 360 side of things, fan-favorites Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be available to download from the beginning of the month until October 15th, while Darksiders II storms in as a free download on October 16th.
Both games were extremely popular back in their day, so one can only hope that the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 servers will be repopulated during the first two weeks of October. This ensures players can experience all out warfare while playing online and maybe even begin their work on hunting down some pesky online achievements if their heart desires. On the other hand, Darksiders II is solely a single-player experience. Vigil Games seemed to have mastered the hack-and-slash gameplay of the series as both critics and fans alike were tremendously engrossed with the game’s fluid combat and action-RPG elements.
All in all, it’s safe to say that October is going to be a great month for Gold Members on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
