Japanese game fanatics rejoice, as Sony launched the PS4 in Japan over the weekend. Sony’s next-gen console has already racked up amazing numbers, and it should be no different in the company’s home country.
Japanese website, Famitsu, reports that for the period of February 22 – February 23 the console sold 322,083 units. Compared to the PS3 which only sold less than half that at 88,443, this bodes very well for the video game giant.
In case you were wondering, Sony’s PS2 still holds the record for most units sold at over 630K in just over 2 days.
While we await more solid PS4 titles, such as inFAMOUS: Second Son, the sales trend is definitely a good one, and is proving to be keeping Microsoft up at night.
