Project Spark, the custom sandbox game/toolkit for Xbox One, is now in open beta.
Sadly, this doesn’t mean that every Joe and Nancy with Windows 8 or an Xbox One can instantly jump right into the action. The announcement asks interested parties that they head over to the Project Spark website and register for a beta key, which kind of goes against the notion of an “open beta,” but hey, we’ll roll with it.
A blog post on the game’s Tumblr gives step by step instructions on how to install Project Spark and get things going. It also mentions that anyone who signed up for the game’s beta will receive a key by Thursday, March 6th. Hey, that’s tomorrow!
You can also apparently go into any Microsoft store and pick-up a key. I’d do that right now, except..
My Xbox One is being repaired. Sad days.
Don’t worry, though, because the console is being shipped back as we speak. I really can’t wait to get my hands on Project Spark and it’s a good thing that there aren’t any majorly anticipated games coming out on March 11th to distract me.
