Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 (Gameplay Footage)

I’m not a big soccer fan, but hey everyone is entitled to at least one epiphany. Truth be told I’d rather dust off my ’64 and play some Mario Kart before I play any of these next gen soccer games, but I must admit, PES ’11 has definitely caught my eye. I stopped playing FIFA in 08, didn’t play PES after 06, but I do frequent @Gameloft’s Real Soccer 2010 on my iTouch. I say this to say that besides the fact that I’m not a real soccer fan, I don’t mind playing it…and maybe kicking a few goalies in the back, or headbutting an opposing player.

In either case, call me superficial, but I am a graphics whore. You can pretty much sell me anything, as long as the graphics are intensely amazing, I’m going to play it…unless the story is lacking immensely, then I just leave my tv on and let the demo play like a digital photo frame; my guests will be in awe.

And this is where Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 comes in. New gameplay footage of PES 2011 dropped a few days ago and it has several FIFA fans in a frenzy because if you watch it, you’ll notice some very interesting and intuitive moves that @Konami has made, like the amazing celebrations, real-time physics and animations, REAL National Anthems, and just all around great, amazing, awesome, God-like graphics. Granted, the speed issue that has plagues PES since the get-go still looks to be apparent, but the game is still in development so there is hope! Check out the trailer below.
