Press Start! This is What We Played for Week 22

Welcome fanatics to Press Start! This is a weekly editorial that dives into what we here at The Game Fanatics have been playing. No spoilers on the newer games that we’re playing but we will give you a quick insight on how good or bad it is. Games will range from retro to new, casual to FPS, we play it all!

Jen:

Did a crazy session of Star Wars: The Old Republic. I finished the character story arc for my Sith (light side) sorcerer. Got her up to level 52 in fact. I’m thinking of getting her to level 55 before working on my other lower characters. I also beat a few of the mini games in Bejeweled 3 on XBLA. I think I have four more to beat.

Chris:

Played some Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike on XBLA. I do not get tired of that fighter and with how good of a game it is there is still always someone playing it despite other fighting games being dropped since it’s original online release. Also tackled Guardian Heroes as well. This might be my favorite release in the XBLA the side scrolling / fighting game style beat up with it’s cel shading and anime like graphics make this one a classic. Started my tune up for Madden by playing a game of Madden 13. Eager to see what EA Games has in store for the next edition featuring the great Barry Sanders.

Arnell:

I downloaded Mega Man X (Wii U VC) and beat it for the umpteenth time. One of the best SNES games ever. And I also downloaded The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons (3DS VC), which were 2 of the 3 main Zelda games I haven’t played. I chose to play Ages first. I forgot it was the puzzle heavy one so my brain doesn’t always comply, ha. But I am enjoying it. Can’t wait to beat it so I can tackle Seasons afterwards.

Ben:

Beat Super Metroid and I had totally forgotten how great the ending was. Everyone should play that game. Go do it now. I also got The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages on the 3DS Virtual Console. I very fondly remember these games from when I was growing up. Anyway, I started playing Seasons first and they hold up very well for Game Boy Color games. Classic 2D Zeldas for the win.

Darrin:

FarCry 3: Blood Dragon is every bit as cheesy and awesome as I’ve heard it was. Finished my second playthrough of The Cave (PSN), and finally started The Walking Dead (PC, Telltale Games). I don’t normally play point-and-click games but so far, it’s really good.

Charles:

I’ve been tearing through Remember Me to get my review done, it’s a good game, with flaws. Very enjoyable though. Can’t divulge too much information, but my review will soon be live!
