Preload the DOOM Open Beta Now!

The Latest DOOM Trailer Will Blow You Away

Starting right now, players can preload the DOOM open beta to the console of their choice. The beta is set to begin on April 15th and will conclude on the 17th.

While the closed beta was available to a selected few weeks ago, everyone will soon get their chance to experience DOOM’s ferocious multiplayer. Releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC, DOOM seeks to rekindle the franchise’s popularity with this highly anticipated title.

With the closed beta finished, id Software will make use of the open beta to fix any issues voiced by players. As for the beta itself, the developing company has already stated what sort of content we can expect to experience over the weekend.

DOOM-4-1

Players will engage in 6V6 matches between two types of modes: team deathmatch and Warpath. Team deathmatch needs no explanation but Warpath is basically king-of-the-hill, where players must capture and hold a specific part of the map as it moves to different locations. DOOM will launch with six modes altogether but only these two will be present during the beta slot.

Both of these modes can be played on Heatwave and Infernal, the two maps accompanying the beta. And though the full game will have access to multiple playable demons, only the Revenant can be used during the beta.

Of course, players will get to use an assortment of deadly weapons to dispatch the opposing team. Here are the weapons available for the beta: Rocket Launcher, Plasma Rifle, Super Shotgun, Vortex Rifle, Static Rifle, Heavy Assault Rifle, and Lightning Gun. Players will also be able to utilize the Gauss Cannon Power Weapon, and for equipment, we have the Frag Grenade, Personal Teleporter, and Siphon Grenade.

Though the beta is not ready to play just yet, players can get ahead of the curve by preloading it now. The beta will run throughout this weekend on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Rain down some hell!
