UPDATE: Both Ubisoft and Nintendo have confirmed that the images are of the actual designs that will appear on Wii U games.
Nintendo’s 3DS packaging designs suffered from resembling their DS cousins a little too much. These potential Wii U box designs look familiar, but instead of using the popular Wii template, they borrow their aesthetic from a different part of Nintendo’s history.
Users on NeoGAF have supposedly found leaked Wii U packaging via Amazon. As some users have pointed out, it resembles the package designs for Nintendo’s GameCube. You can judge for yourself in the gallery below.
Be aware, though, that these are not yet the official box designs for Wii U games. Until we see the final product, take these images as rumors and speculation.
