Yesterday, two mysterious trademark registrations filed by Nintendo were found pointing to Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. Today, we have the official news.
In this morning’s short Pokémon filled Nintendo Direct, we learned that Pokémon Sun and Moon will officially be coming to the Nintendo 3DS this holiday. However, nothing was shown for the new games besides a few quick glimpses at concept art. No other details were discussed besides the fact that the game will release in 9 different languages.
Check out the direct below, or skip to 3:30 to see the part on Sun and Moon.
Years ago, we would have thought that a non-color based Pokémon title would be a little farfetch’d, but I guess they finally ran out of colors.
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will be released worldwide in holiday 2016 as part of the 20th anniversary of Pokémon. And I bet that next time, Nintendo hopes the trademark office keeps its meowth shut.
