The PlayStation 4 Slim is Real, Here’s the Proof

PlayStation 4 Slim

It started as a rumor and after some image leaks, it comes as a reality. PlayStation 4 Slim is coming, adding to Sony’s console line-up.

More news coming from the Sony front. Some days ago we covered the possibility of the PlayStation 4 Neo getting an official presentation at an event in New York this September, the so-called PlayStation Meeting. A rumor that after some days turned to be true. Well, it seems that Sony is taking that upcoming date to share news about their expanding family. And this is because the PlayStation 4 Slim has been finally confirmed after a prelude filled with hearsays and leaked images.

PlayStation 4 Slim Adds to the Family

What’s this little console all about? By the title and also the images, you can certainly expect a lighter, smaller version. Although we need to wait for more concrete details, it seems that it is coming with all the functionalities of the big one on top of its sexy size.

It will play the same games and will be compatible with the upcoming VR headset and future virtual reality software as well. Making it, we reckon, a rather interesting purchase for more casual players or simply new ones venturing into the world of consoles. One of the new things that the leaked images have revealed is what seems to be a new DualShock 4 controller with the lightbar visible on its front face. It’s still unsure whether this will have any further functionality though, or whether its battery will last longer than Sony’s current controller (would be nice though!).

If you want to talk about money, the Slim will likely target a cheaper range than the normal console and the other big one in the works. PlayStation Neo will surely align all the cool features it brings with a slight price hike, setting this console around $400.

Once again, the paths of Sony and Microsoft cross. Microsoft already released their slimmer Xbox One S not so long time ago and they are also working on a hyper-powerful machine, dubbed Project Scorpio. Nintendo, on the other hand, will offer a brand new console by March 2017. Interesting months ahead for all console lovers, that’s for sure.
