What We Played for Week Ending April 8

This is a weekly segment where we share what games we are currently playing for our readers to get to know us a bit better. Said games can range from retro to current and from casual to  games. If we’re playing it, we’ll share it. Please feel free to comment with what you’re playing or your opinions on the games that we’re involved with.

Luis: Recently I’ve been getting a bit of Battlefield 3 in, post patch that just came out. It has a few good improvements to nerfing certain OP weapons and attachments and such. Also FINALLY picked up Deus Ex. Found it for a good price and couldn’t pass it up.

Jason: Friends who are playing World of Warcraft got me to resub in preparation for the Mists of Pandaria expansion. So, I have mostly been there lately raiding and gearing up. I also got really into Gotham City Imposters after our Lazy Sunday playthrough, still check in with Star Wars: The Old Republic for PvP and Halo: Reach for Firefight mode.

Jeff: I’ve been busy, so progress in Metroid Prime has been minimal. Other than that, I’ve been enjoying Colors! 3D, a new drawing app for the 3DS (Check out the review, here). Next week, on the other hand, is going to be filled with Batman, Metroid Prime, and OverBlood, a PS1 survival-horror adventure game that has reached cult status in recent years.

Jen: Finished up Mass Effect 3 for the third time. I was able to get the Overload Specialist achievement this time around. After scanning every single planet, I don’t understand how I didn’t get the Master and Commander or the Defender achievement. We were all told that all achievements can be obtained offline, without having to play multiplayer, but I don’t see how that is possible with those two achievements. I still need to get the kill 5,000 enemies Veteran achievement as well. Its looking like the insanity achievement is easier to get than those three. I think I’m going to take a break from Mass Effect 3 finally and work on another game for achievements, maybe Saints Row the Third. Or I could go back to SWTOR finally and get to level 50. Or finish Deus Ex. I finally have a small break in between new games that I should use to finish up those I haven’t beaten yet.
