Platinum Games – 2013 Show Reel Highlights Some Exciting New Titles

Platinum Games, a Japanese gaming company founded by Capcom’s Cover Studio members Shinji Mikami, Hideki Kamiya, and Atsushi Inaba, has a few exciting titles coming up, and the video below shows their 2013 reel, highlighting some old favorites and a few new ones.

The three new games in this clip are Wonderful 101, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and Bayonetta 2. Wonderful 101 is a superhero game where players control a team to stop an onslaught from, aliens trying to destroy the city where they live. The heroes can join forces together to form weapons to help stop the menace. This one’s set for a Wii U release during its launch period.

Raiden in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance comes from the Metal Gear universe, starring Raiden, introduced in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. This one is set between the second and fourth games in the series, and unlike previous incarnations, is action-themed, as opposed to the stealthiness encouraged in the others. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Finally, Bayonetta 2, will continue the story of witchcraft and acrobatic fighting. This title will be a Wii U exclusive though (unlike the first, which was released for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3), to the chagrin of some fans of the original. This is because of Nintendo’s role in helping make Bayonetta 2 happen.

Everyone’s favorite hair-wielding witch, Bayonetta.

Platinum Games holds strong with an exciting lineup for early 2013, and surely even better things will follow.
