Overwatch‘s one-year event has kicked off with a crazy amount of rewards to keep you busy until June 12.
During this seasonal event, there are three new Arena maps in the Arcade: Castillo, Black Forest and Necropolis. On top of that, there are over 100 Anniversary items available in Loot Boxes. These include sprays, dancing emotes and the biggest release ever of new Legendary skins. As a token of appreciation, you’ll get one free box if you log in between today and June 12.

Blizzard has also taken this opportunity to release Overwatch: Game of the Year Edition. This digital version for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is replacing the Origins Edition and includes the following bonus items:
- 10 Loot Boxes
- Vintage Blackwatch Reyes, Strike-Commander Morrison, Overgrown Bastion, Security Chief Pharah, and Skipstream Tracer skins
- Tracer for Heroes of the Storm
- Baby Winston pet for World of Warcraft
- Mercy’s wings for Diablo III
- Tracer, Reaper, Pharah, Winston, Bastion and Soldier: 76 portraits for StarCraft II
- Overwatch-themed card back for Hearthstone
In addition to the limited-event, Overwatch is getting another free weekend. The game will be free to download and play from May 26 to 29.
Their anniversary event may not bring dramatic additions to the game, but it surely creates a festive environment, offering some juicy items to collect while we wait for future content. Overwatch has certainly been one of the best and most successful games of 2016 and, as their creators say, this is only the beginning.
