Earlier today it was announced that The Last Of Us, one of this years most anticipated titles, is getting its own comic book series through Dark Horse Comics.
Titled The Last Of Us: American Dreams will be a four part series by none other than the lead writer himself Neil Druckman with help from Erin Hicks as co-writer and artist.. You might know Erin Hicks from Zombies Calling, Friends With Boys and The Adventures of Superhero Girl – if not, check them out.
It seems that American Dreams is going to go back before the game itself takes place and open up some of Ellie’s backstory. Ellie, the heroine in The Last Of Us has grown up in the post pandemic world being mostly pushed from orphanage to orphanage within one of the last remaining quarantine zones. When she’s old enough she pretty much gets the idea she’s either going right into the military or off to fend for herself. That is of course, until she meets an older girl who’s determined to find a third way out.
The first issue of The Last Of Us: American Dreams will be appear in Spring of 2013 and give us an idea how Ellie came to be Joel’s companion.
The Art of The Last Of Us, a deluxe hardcover that goes into detail of our heroes, infected humans and the realization of the world within the game will hit stores the same time the game launches.
