Now Available for Download: The Cave! Hurray!

SEGA has announced that their masterpiece The Cave, which was developed with the help of Double Fine Production, is now available for download on the PlayStation Network, Nintendo eShop on Wii U, Xbox LIVE Arcade, and on Steam.

The Cave was named GameInformer’s best adventure game and best downloadable game of E3 2012. Created by the name behind Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion, Ron Gilbert, and the studio behind Psyconauts and Brütal Legends, The Cave promises challenging puzzles and great adventures with a team of three that can be chosen out of seven unique characters. Don’t worry, the humor you’d expect from a Double Fine title will still be there. Not just because you can play as a monk, a time traveler, and a pair of twins. But instead because of the writing you’d expect from a game from these people.

It should be noted that this is not the Kickstarter game we saw pitched earlier this year. That’s coming this year. So this will wet our appetite for the adventure genre. The game’s available on ever console and PC, so there’s no excuse to miss out. Keep in mind, though, that off-TV play is not supported for the Wii U.

Look! Here’s a launch trailer for the game! Double Hurray! Because, you know…Double Fine…
