Good news, Kirby fans! The pink puff ball is coming to handhelds in a Kirby 3DS adventure.
This morning on Nintendo’s Nintendo Direct reveal, a new Kirby was announced for the Nintendo 3DS. Along with an announcement trailer teasing what looks like some 2-D platforming action showcasing many of Kirby’s familiar tactics.
Throughout the trailer you see Kirby demonstrating some of his signature moves as he like absorbs enemies and uses their abilities against them, including a hat resembling Link from Legend of Zelda (Link Between Worlds was also featured during the Nintendo Direct). The trailer shows Kirby switching from two different depths of 2-D platforming to get around obstacles.
While Kirby has appeared in several recent releases (Kirby’s Epic Yarn and Return to Dreamland for the Wii), there hasn’t been a major buzz around the franchise in quite some time. He has appeared in other. The graphics for Kirby 3DS title definitely has more of a traditional 3-D look. No other details have been mention other than we can expect the new Kirby 3DS title to release in 2014.
