As reported by IGN, controllers reported to be part of Nintendo’s upcoming NX console have been revealed as hoaxes.
The fake prototypes for the NX were revealed by a set of YouTube videos. In the videos you can see how the hoaxers created the mock-ups, and turned them into photos.
The first was created by David Im and he created it as a 3D model, which was then planted into a real picture using Photoshop.
Another person by the name of Frank Sandqvist went ahead and 3D printed one of the “leaked” designs.
The fakes gained attention because they did have similarity to a patent filed by Nintendo. Both had rounded screens with protruding buttons. The design in general was very negatively received for good reason. The controller was essentially an awkwardly shaped screen with only two analog sticks. The design was pretty ridiculous.
What do you expect from the new Nintendo console? Do you think Nintendo will go with another ambitious controller design or attempt to go with something more streamlined?
The GamePad was an enjoyable controller to use and it worked for the most part. Although, the design didn’t actually do much in terms of being innovative but it was a pretty comfy controller. Let us know in the comments below what you think of the Nintendo NX and the Wii U.
