You know SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act, well it’s slowly losing supporters. And this time it’s big names.
Nintendo, Electronic Arts, and Sony Electronics have all dropped the SOPA. This act, if made into law, would essentially allow companies to take down an site they think is infringing on their copyright; even if it is just a page linking to another site althogether. They could also request that the site have its advertising and other revenue streams cut off. Even further than that, they could straight up blacklist the entire domain so that no one could visit it.
Now doesn’t that sound fun?
No.
The answer is no. No fun.
