Nintendo Declines E3 Press Conference, Targets Fans Directly

For the second year in a row, Nintendo has decided against an E3 press conference in favour of more intimate meetings with fans.

Nintendo fans will be sad to know that they will once again be missing out on the elaborate press conferences they’re used to from the video game producing giant. While this June’s Electronic Entertainment Expo will still have their biggest competitors Sony and Microsoft showcasing we future in flashy conferences, Nintendo has decided to market their upcoming games in a different way.

The new method will involve letting attendees and press check out some upcoming games that Nintendo will be releasing, while also hosting another Nintendo Direct video – although this will now be called the ‘Nintendo Digital Event’ – which will be shown on the morning of June 10th. You can also catch a ‘Nintendo Treehouse’ video, which will feature commentary and demos.

However, the thing everybody seems to be looking forward to is the live Super Smash Bros. Wii U tournament where fans will be able to play the highly anticipated game before it is available to the public later this year.

What are you looking forward to most at E3? Are you disappointed about Nintendo’s lack of traditional press conference? Let us know in the comments below!
