Nintendo has been hitting us with new announcements on a weekly basis as of late. The Super Mario Bros. Direct was great but this partners showcase was a pleasant surprise.
I wasn’t expecting much in the way of huge announcements since the majority of the Partner’s Showcase have been pretty low key, but they kicked things off with 2 brand new Monster Huntergames. Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2. Monster Hunter Rise looks to be what fans are looking for in a new modern release in the series and I am super excited to get my hands on it when it launches on March 26, 2021.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 Wings of Ruin is a sequel to the first Monster Hunter Stories on 3DS and it looks to be a much larger scale adventure than the first one. Honestly, I can’t get enough of this art style and tone. It’s so anime and I’m here for it. Monster Hunter fans got a lot of great news today and I am really excited to finally get some new Monster Hunter games on my Nintendo Switch.
Rune Factory 5 was announced as well which is not surprising to me since the release of Rune Factory 4 was well received by many fans. I haven’t played the series but may give it a shot since it does seem like a game I would be interested in.
Personally my biggest surprise of this direct was the Hades and Ori and the Will of the Wisps shadow drops. I’m playing Hades right now and loving every second of it! I love Super Giant games and was looking forward to Hades since the day they revealed it and it’s right at home on the Switch.
There were several other announcements as well so definitely check out the direct and enjoy one of the best Nintendo Directs we’ve had in a long time. Even in the wake of yesterday’s PlayStation 5 presentation and preorder disaster, Nintendo managed to get me excited for something that’s not next-gen related.
