What was supposed to be just a simple E3 demo, Game and Wario is shaping up to be one of the zaniest Wii U games yet.
The WarioWare franchise has been known for, well, being a bit wacky. Today we learned about two more mini-games featured. One was a single-player game that will no doubt bring back childhood memories. In it, we were playing a game on the Wii U’s GamePad, but would have to quickly hide it when our mother entered the room.
The second game showed off in the Nintendo Direct video was “Fruit,” perhaps my favorite demo from E3. Comparisons to SpyParty will no doubt be made; one player uses the GamePad to control a thief who steals fruit from the townspeople. Everyone holding a Wiimote has to deduce who is stealing the fruit.
We were also promised throwback games that will bring back memories from the original WarioWare titles. It’s nice to know that Game and Wario appears to be shaping up to be an “ultimate version” of the game, sort to speak.
While it was disappointing to no see further mini-game details, it’s an encouraging sign for the game that Nintendo was willing to speak about it so soon in their press conference.
Game and Wario will be available sometime early in 2013 for the Wii U.
