It was announced at an event in Tokyo that Japan will be able to get a hold of the 3DS on February 26, 2011 for the price of ¥25,000, which means $299 for the rest of us and should be launched sometime in March for the US and UK. In Japan, the 3DS will launch in either black or aqua and 2GB of flash memory. This hand-held will also come loaded with a DS version of the Mii Plaza and with the flash memory other apps can and will be offered for download in the future.
If you own a DSi or DSi XL and purchased a game on DSi Ware, you will be able to transfer those games to your brand new 3DS.
At launch, the 3DS will have a nice selection of games, including Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Paper Mario, Animal Crossings and more.
