Nexon Europe announced today that they will be publishing Shadow Company: The Mercenary War, a free-to-play first-person shooter being developed by Korean developer Doobic Game Studios. The game is being developed using the Unreal 3 engine, which quite possibly means that it will be one of the best looking free-to-play shooters to be released thus far.
“Partnering with Nexon to publish and service Shadow Company: The Mercenary War is a great opportunity for us to show the world how compelling a free-to-play FPS can be,” said Jun Hyok Im, CEO of Doobic Game Studios. “We are committed to working with the best partner in each market in order to make Shadow Company: The Mercenary War the finest first-person shooter available. Given our publishing history with Nexon and the company’s track record of success, it was an easy decision to partner with Nexon once again.”
According to the official press release, Shadow Company: The Mercenary War is going to compliment its 24 person multiplayer action with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from the Unreal 3 engine including dynamic lighting and realistic character animations.
In addition to Europe, Nexon has also acquired publishing rights in North America and Japan for Shadow Company: The Mercenary War. Korea based Nexon, which is known for its selection of free-to-play titles, first forayed into the FPS genre with Combat Arms, a game also developed by Doobic Studios. Shadow Company: The Mercenary War is set to launch in Europe later this year. To check out the other titles currently available from Nexon, visit their official site.
