Four new screens from the upcoming first-person shooter Serious Sam 3: BFE have been released by the folks at Croteam and they look mighty serious, if you get my drift.
Serious Sam: The First Encounter was released November 2009 and The Second Encounter was released last year, both with a spiffy HD upgrade, but it seems as though the graphics have seen yet another overhaul that will be sure to please fans. The environments have been ravished by the war with the Sirian alien race. The streets of Cairo, Egypt, are littered with debris, looking like a tornado ripped through, and buildings show signs of abuse from the on-going conflicts taking place around them. Though the sun is shining, the environments still carry a dark tone that you can expect from the Serious Sam series.
The screens show a great amount of detail and the attention payed to it. It’s certainly impressive in a lot of areas, such as the lighting, and the color pallet they chose to use to represent to destructed streets of Cairo. It makes everything “pop” and look very lush, while still being easy on the eyes. The detail in the character models show nice textures, and the lighting only compliments the detail.
