New video footage from Kirby and the Rainbow Curse has come out through the game’s Japanese website. It reveals the opening, provides a glimpse at a clay figure collection, shows the pink cream puff of power in action, previews several of his forms in action, and reveals amiibo support.
Furthermore, a little more info on the size of the game has come to light: There are 28 main story levels and 40 challenge stages. Four player multiplayer is also available. The game pad holder will control Kirby while friends can join in with Wii motes to play as assorted Waddle Dees.
So far amiibo support is shown for Kirby, King Dedede, and Meta Knight. It seems amiibo implementation will act somewhat similar to classic cheat codes. Kirby’s own amiibo will allow him to star dash infinitely, while the Dedede amiibo lets Kirby wear the king penguin’s hat, giving him higher health. Finally, Meta Knight’s amiibo lets Kirby dawn his mask for improved attack power.
On top of all this, the Japanese price for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse has been conformed to be similar to Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, so it’s safe to expect a $40 price tag when it comes stateside in February.
