So we already know that Gust director Yoshito Okamura spoke with Dengeki PlayStation about the future of the Atelier series and that in this conversation, Okamura reiterated his hint that Atelier Rorona might be the next in line for a remake. This week Dengeki PlayStation confirmed that the next remake for the series will indeed be New Atelier Rorona. It is already in development for the PlayStation 3 and Vita.
New Atelier Rorona will have plenty of new content according to this announcement. As with most remakes, it should be clear that the character modeling is going to have gone through a big upgrade. The game will also feature new events and the time system has also been extended. Gust will also add a Time Capsule, item cultivation, additional trophies, new battle characters, and additional costumes.
In addition to the features listed above, New Atelier Rorona has a cross-save feature, which will allow players to take a save file from their PS3 and transfer it to the Vita, or vice-versa. The PlayStation 3’s limited edition copy will come with a crystal paper weight, and a controller sticker, while the Vita’s limited edition will come with a mini-crystal paper weight, and a skin for the console.
New Atelier Rorona is scheduled to release this November for both the PlayStation 3 and Vita.
