2K Sports has been mighty busy on their social media, lately. They gave fans anticipating the popular basketball franchise a peek at the three cover athletes for this year’s installment, NBA 2K16.
In addition to the screenshots, 2K Sports partnered with Drake, whom works closely with the Raptors organization, to unveil a variant of the new Toronto Raptors jersey at the OVO, which is short for October’s Very Own, Fest that took place over the past weekend in Toronto.
The particular jersey that Drake wore during the unveiling was a variant of the new Toronto Raptors’ jersey in the patent OVO black and gold, however, jerseys in the traditional red, black and silver will be worn. The jerseys will premiere in the beginning of the NBA preseason and in NBA 2K16 when the game launches later this year. They also feature several changes from last year’s jerseys with the Toronto Raptors text being arched over the players numbers, and the chevron arrows have been flipped to point upwards and point towards the Canada.
2K Sports and Visual Concepts have long been known for the graphical prowess, and this year is no exception. Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis and James Harden, the three cover athletes selected for this year’s game, look uncannily similar to their human counterparts. Anthony Davis’ famous unibrow, James Harden’s signature beard, and Stephen Curry’s sunken in eyes look great — okay, Curry’s eyes are terrifying, but they are terrifying in real life too.
NBA 2K16 hits physical and digital store shelves on September, 29th.
