What Could this Mystery PS4 Exclusive Be?

Here at The Game Fanatics, we don’t particularly like to dabble in unconfirmed, hearsay content but it’s hard to look the other way when we’re hearing words like, “Huge” and “Rage” and “Exclusive.” These are all buzzwords we’ve come to know very well but it doesn’t look like we’re going to have to wait very long as an imminent announcement is rumored to be made at the PlayStation Experience event in December. What exclusive might this be? And why would it make a lot of noise or make people rage? First lets delve into the origin of this unconfirmed rumor.

Earlier in the week, two editors of Gamelog France took to twitter to share some flimsy information regarding a PlayStation 4 exclusive and how fans would react to the announcement when it is unveiled this December. Apparently this exclusive is a big deal since it looks like it will be causing mass hysteria for those on other platforms. Even Hello Games founder and developer of the upcoming No Man’s Sky got in on the fun and teased that he saw something, “amazing coming to PS4 owners.” But it’s hard to believe this is connected since Hello Games is not a part of Sony’s first party studios or the PlayStation “family” therefore how would he be privy to such announcement?

As expected, the so-called “insiders” have come out of the woodwork with well-known insider Tidux claiming he has seen the PS4 Exclusive and how the lighting impressed him and such. Please take all of this with a grain of salt and approach this December event with tamed expectations. What could this title be? We’re being told it could be a third-person game and there’s been reports stating this could be coming from a third-party studio. The last game we remember that made quite a bit of noise and hysteria was when Microsoft announced Rise of the Tomb Raider as an Xbox exclusive title. And that’s a third party game.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Could this replace Agent as the Rockstar and PlayStation game we were promised long ago? The Agent trademarks were renewed so what if they infused it with Red Dead Redemption? How do these sound like?

  • Red Dead Redemption 2: Agent of the Mojave
  • Red Dead Redemption 2: Dead Agent
  • Red Dead Redemption 2: Agent

It could be just about anything but lets be real, this is nothing but a pipe dream. Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming but I doubt this is the PS4 exclusive. It would make a lot of noise though.

Fallout 4

Fallout 3

This is a big one. This is something I expect Microsoft to pull off since they seem to have unlimited funds to do these kinds of deals. However, it’s been unusually and eerily quiet on the Fallout front; could something be stirring behind the scenes?

Shenmu 3

I’m not sure how impacting and maddening this announcement would be but there’s definitely a big audience waiting eagerly for this game to happen. It would have to be a mega deal with Sega who still owns the IP and deep pockets from Sony to make this happen. Is it possible? Certainly but is it something Sony wants to invest in?

Mass Effect 4

This is another megaton announcement that will send shockwaves for years to come and most definitely dwarf the significance of Rise of the Tomb Raider being an Xbox exclusive. Mass Effect used to be a third-party exclusive for Microsoft before the series came to PlayStation and we know how these partnership deals have a tendency to flip-flop in this industry. Still, it is quite the pipe dream and rather unrealistic but it would cause incredible madness and “rage” just like the tweets have mentioned.

These games are all games we would love to see, exclusive or not, these are titles we dream about on a daily basis. There’s no doubt that Sony would like to match Microsoft’s Tomb Raider deal with an ace of their own but it’s hard to pinpoint what that could mean. Maybe we’re overreacting and the announcement is an indie? Be sure to keep it locked right here on The Game Fanatics for coverage of this mysterious PS4 Exclusive and remember, keep tame expectations.
