I’ve been a huge fan of my 3DS, but I’ve noticed that a lot of casual gamers (including those who own several models of DS) have dismissed it as “the new DS”. Could new packaging help give the 3DS it’s own identity?
3DStribe is reporting that several retailers in the UK have placed stickers over their 3DS software. The colors are inverted, and the 3DS logo also runs along the bottom of the packaging. It definitely gives the cases a unique appearance; if not eye-catching.
Well, fanatics, what do you make of it? Maybe I’m just excited because I’ve been thinking about something similar ever since Ocarina 3D released, but this could be the first step in a rebranding effort to help distinguish the 3DS in a crowded mobile market.
